  • Book/Magazine

Super limited edition (20 copies of 50) of "Samezoblo" Magazine featuring music from Isodrome.

Samezoblo in Georgian language means neighborhood or more literally the place where the courtyards are. “Samezoblo” magazine is an unconventional mode of representation of city ecologies.
It provides a foreign perspective on casual city life, its objects, and peculiarities, which became normal for the local eyes. Samezoblo reminds us, that each urban environment is unique and that uniqueness should be appreciated or preserved.
The zine documents objects, which comprise a great part of everyday culture, but will never be officially preserved as a cultural heritage.
In this regard Samezoblo acts as an informal repository of such objects, which will be telling a story of NOW through years, spanning geographical borders.

In Vol. 10 "Samezoblo" teamed up with CES Records and made zine a very special musical experience. Magazine features album "Transitions" by ISODROME. Each copy of zine includes redeem code of the album.

How do we give shape and body to our perceptions? How can we tell a story that retains the spirit of the one we originally had in mind but never came to materialize? The original intention of this edition was to tell the story of a mysterious cow who resides in Afrika district within Tbilisi municipality, and whose milk was used as payment for being allowed to freely roam in a piece of city land: her milk was then used to make cheese, and then khachapuri later sold to unaware people. But the cow went to Kazbegi and was not possible to uncover the reasons of why she was part of an urban ecosystem, nor to follow her transitions. Intrigue by her presence, Samezoblo went on a quest for cheese around town, trying to figure out if they were connected to other cows roaming in the outskirts of the city. Other cows were indeed discovered in Tbilisi Sea a few minutes walk from Varketili metro station. They are a part of a bigger agricultural network that reside in the edges of a city more and more victim of a schizophrenic and out of control urban transformation. But what does milk, cheese, cows, khachapuri, have in common with a Samezoblo Musical Edition, with Isodrome ambient creations, with CES records? The word cheese hides different etymologies: its Georgian root ყვ (q’v) means to make, to produce, to grow; its Italian etymology refers to the round shapes used to ferment the milk; in other Indoeuropean languages cheese is taken directly from the word fermentation: a microscopic but aggressive process in which the elements in the materia prima start to agitate. This agitation produce heat reactions: these reactions creates a new product. Samezoblo, in collaboration with Isodrome and CES records, offers a grasp to this definitions, to these elements that ferment and give shape to unexpected and synesthesical interpretations of reality. Transitions, becomes the title we decided to give to the latest album of Isodrome, and to this volume that double down as an audio vector in which we invite the listener/reader to go through the pages as they go through the tracks*. In Isodrome’s words: “A human in his lifetime goes through lots of transitions: in mood, profession or in anything else that can be changed/transformed into a different position or, even, a condition. It’s a process that might get called time traveling from before into after. It’s one of the most difficult and beautiful act, owning and controlling transitions gives us the precise predictions and knowledge of results.”
